El Toro loses again.

Despite a dominating second half performance , FSSC lost yet another league match, this time a 2-1 heart breaker at the hands of the Capital Kickers (Budweiser).

The Bulls started the match fairly slow but settled down after the first 15-20 minutes. Despite two point blank chances in the first half the Bulls could not find the net and went into half time in the midst of a 0-0 stalemate.

El Toro came out of halftime and dominated possession throughout the second half. However, after a Capital Kicker throw-in, Omar got a step on his man just inside the box and was able to turn and shoot. The ball struck the post and deflected into the goal for a 1-0 Capital lead. Behind by a goal, the FSSC attack flourished. The Bulls peppered the Capital goalie with quality chances and hit the crossbar on one occasion. Finally, with less than 20 minutes to go, Tommy "Crybaby" Beaubien won the ball at midfield and played it out wide to Tony Vance. Vance took a touch and played a through ball to Ron Thomas. Thomas turned his man and fired a beautiful cross that found the left foot of Paul Vance. After a great build-up the score was knotted at 1-1. With the score now tied, Capital seemed to be playing for a draw and looked tired. But with less than 10 minutes to go, what appeared to be a harmless cross turned into to an own goal as Beaubien tried to play a head ball back to the keeper. Goalie Geoff Gayle was caught off guard and the ball deflected off his chest and off the crossbar for the game winning goal. Capital held on to prevail 2-1.

Scoring summary:

CK: Omar - 59
ET: P. Vance (Thomas) - 73
CK: Own goal

i am a little unimpressed with the constant of not scoring goals in THE BIG GAMES! Once again The Bulls dominated to come up on the short end, 1-2! I really cannot add anything more to Paul's report, spot on!
We have a huge game tonight vs. the young kids @9 inside the Dome. We have to be patient and not "PANIC" when pressured. They r full of energy and will most deffinately run us around. How about making a couple of passes backwards to keep possesion? We tend to play the long ball and turn it over WAY TOO MUCH, making us work harder to get possesion back.
Listen, the season isnt over, but we most desperately need a good result vs. one of our rivals or we will be in the same place we were last yr. Having to beat Capital & Cash Now back to back to win the league!
