Game 5

El Toro defeated a young and eager Penalty Box team on Wednesday night but the real winner was mother nature.

Playing without their leader and coach, the Bulls were determined to to get off to a fast start against PB. After some mediocre play, El Toro forward Rob "Crazy Legs" Roney laid off a great ball to midfielder Mike Vance who lobbed the ball over the goalie's head to put El Toro up 1-0 a mere 10 minutes into the game. The Bulls would increase their lead 10 minutes later when Pat Killian scored a beautiful goal. After receiving the ball from Roney, Killian took a few nice touches to get around the PB keeper and slotted the ball home to make the score 2-0. This was Killian's first official goal since 1991.

The two goal lead allowed El Toro to relax...and relax they did. The remaining 20 minutes of action consisted of some very lackadaisical play by the Bulls. Ultimately, El Toro's lack of intensity costs them in the 33rd minute when PB captain and the recently named "Best Radio Personality in Genesee County" Brett Dargo a/k/a "Cha-Chi" played a through ball to one of the PB forwards. After a misplay by the El Toro defense the PB player was able to gather the ball and place it by the Bulls Jeff Gayle. El Toro entered halftime with a 2-1 lead.

The second half began with the impending storm well on its way. With lighting striking in the distance, El Toro began to pick of the pace. Playing high pressure defense for the first time all game, the Bulls were able to force PB into numerous bad passes and turnovers. Still, El Toro could not finish their chances. The game also got a little chippy as Chris "I used to be skinny" Hallstrand and Tom "Cry Baby" Beaubien got into skirmishes with some of the young PB players. Cooler heads would prevail however. Nonetheless, with the storm getting closer and only holding a one goal lead, the El Toro offense began to play with purpose. After a few close calls in front of the net, the Bulls were awarded a corner kick. Cry Baby took the kick and lofted the ball into the six yard box where Fabian "CoCo Sauce" Villarreal connected with a well timed header. El Toro 3, PB 1.

Mother nature would take it from there. The fast approaching lighting got the referee's attention and the game was called a mere 15 minutes into the second half. Disappointed in the short game, many of the Bulls went home unhappy with the 3-1 victory. El Toro will try to pick up their spirits with a big victory against ICBIRDT on Sunday.
