Game 10

Tired and weary, El Toro got back on the winning track with a 6-3 defeat of the Penalty Box U-30 team. El Toro got on the board quickly with a strike from Paul Vance but the lead was short lived as the stand-in keeper for El Toro would allow two quick goals from Penalty Box to relinquish the lead. Things would get knotted up at two when the Bulls were award a penalty shot in the 28th minute. Designated PK specialist Andy Zinn took the spot kick. The tie game was short lived as Penalty Box scored on a break-away to go up 3-2 with 10 minutes left in the half. El Toro would tie the game at 3 with a little less than 5 minutes to go in the first half off a goal by defender Brad "Twin 1" Farrar.

El Toro buckled down in the second half. The Bulls were thrilled with the return of keeper Andy Toth in net, taking over for stand-in Mike Vance, who allowed two very soft goals. With the keeper situation solidified, the Bulls exposed the Penalty Box back three defenders for numerous chances. Although El Toro still showed some finishing problems, they ultimately scored three second half goals to make the final score 6-3. The second half goals came from Chris Hallstrand, Paul Vance and Mikey "Twin 2" Farrar.

Not a great game for El Toro but the effort was there.

Not much to say about the game, we were all tired & hurting. Happy to see everyone that was able make it out for the last game & give it the "Old College Field" try, considering that it didn't mean anything towards the playoff standings. 8-2, not horrible, but deffinately not good either. It just means that we will have to play one extra game in the playoffs (good 4 all u stat happy {goals} freaks). That could be a good thing anyway, maybe settle down & play some good smart soccer b4 we take on Cash Now & Bud for the Championship! Good game considering fellas, hope i can make it on Sunday!
